Here at Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, we have deemed this is a NON-SMOKING OF ANY KIND, ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY, ESPECIALLY INSIDE THE CABIN home. THIS PAGE WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED TO VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THESE RULES BEFORE YOU CAN BOOK YOUR STAY AT Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals.

Please be respectful of this particular rule.

Smoke lingers in hair and clothing, so it is brought into the space and infiltrates into the soft surfaces; making it nearly impossible to remove. YOU WILL LOSE THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR DEPOSIT IF WE FIND THAT ANY PART OF THIS RULE WAS BROKEN DURING YOUR STAY.

You will be staying in our home.  Although it is a separate space in our home, and we will not cross paths, you are in our home.  We are early risers. We cook. We watch television. We own dogs. We have conversations. In short, we live in our home. We have done everything we could, including insulation between the walls and sound-absorbing sheetrock, to lessen the sounds between the two spaces. During our soft opening, we discovered when doors were securely closed, i.e. the bathroom doors, and the moon door at the top of the stairs, that we could barely hear our guests, and they could barely hear us; but we could be heard. We will be respectful of this during your stay, as we hope you will be respectful as well. We will observe quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. This is referring to loud sounds, such as music or television. Normal conversation, blow dryers, showers, cooking, and car engines would be the exception.

An extension of this will be pets.  We have two dogs. Dogs bark. We understand. If you are bringing your pet/s, we know they may react to our dogs and bark, as ours may also. If this happens occasionally, we understand. If it is incessant, we ask that you do what you can to counter or reduce the behavior; as will we.

If you are a guest without pets, we will do everything in our power to make sure you have a tranquil, peaceful stay.

FIRES - NO FIRES ALLOWED

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals, we take fires and fire safety very seriously. Teller county provides Burn Ban reports, yet even with no Burn Ban restrictions, Flew the Coop properties maintains there are to be NO FIRES WHATSOEVER on Flew the Coop properties.

PARKING

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, we provided personal parking directly in front of the cabin. There is room for two vehicles to park in a row. Should you be needing more parking, we can discuss it before your stay. If you arrive after dark, there are lights that are motion detected both in the driveway and at the entry door of the cabin. If you are pulling a trailer or small camper, we can discuss how best to direct you for ingress or egress from the driveway.  This is an in-and-out driveway, not a circle driveway. Please contact us in advance.

ENTRANCE/EXIT

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, we have installed a Ring doorbell and a coded lock, which is changed for each new guest. The hosts will provide you the code prior to your arrival.  Your code will be activated during the scheduled time of your visit.  PLEASE BE SURE TO PULL THE DOOR COMPLETELY CLOSED FOR THE LOCK TO ENGAGE.

CLOSET/STORAGE

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite you will find two luggage racks for your convenience.  In the small dresser, you will find coffee/kitchen supplies in the cabinet on the left side, and drawers for your clothing on the right side.  
At the top of the stairs, through the moon door, you will find a closet on the left side of the hallway, and the bathroom on the right side.  On the left-hand side of the closet, you will find an iron and ironing board, broom, mop, and bucket, extra hangers, and more storage shelving above the hanging bar. There is plenty of room to store your luggage below for a neat and tidy stay.
The right-hand side of the closet is reserved for custodial supplies as well as extra sheets and pillowcases. 
We realize accidents happen. Should you need to change the sheets and mattress protector, you will find extras here. Please make us aware, so we may remove the sheets and have them laundered immediately. If a blanket or comforter needs cleaning, we will remove them as well and have them returned in as timely a manner as possible.
 

HEATING/COOLING

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite you will find a propane fed heat stove to the right upon entering the space. Under the sign that says “Hot Stuff. Thermostat” in the upper right corner of the room, near the right side of the bed, you will find the thermostat. Simply place it in the “on” and “heat” position and set the temperature. The flames will appear in the stove for a cozy, but clean fireplace atmosphere. No muss. No fuss. No firewood. No ashes. We suggest 68* as a comfortable temperature. If you leave the moon door at the top of the stairs and the bathroom door open, it will also heat those areas thoroughly. 
When you leave for extended periods, we would appreciate it if you would please lower the temperature on the thermostat to save energy. The stove will heat the entire space in the span of a few minutes upon your return. We suggest lowering the temperature to 55* upon departure.
We also provide a space heater, which is located at the top of the stairs, through the moon door in the bathroom, beneath the towel shelves. Feel free to use it anywhere that is comfortable in the space during your stay; however, it will make a nice toasty bathroom after a shower during those cold weather seasons.
There is a thermal blanket with controls for either side of the bed on both the Queen-sized bed and the bed inside the sofa. You may set the time and temperature for your individual comfort level with the controls.
You will notice there is no air conditioner. Here in the mountains, the air is cool and dry throughout the year. During the summer months, you need only open the windows to coax in a comfortable breeze. You will find a fan in the closet at the top of the stairs if necessary. Please keep the entry door closed. An open door invites mountain critters inside and they have difficulty finding their way back out.

 

KITCHEN

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite we supply a small refrigerator/freezer for your convenience.  The freezer has cubed ice trays, and water bottle ice trays filled and ready.  
You will find a 12-cup coffee maker, a microwave oven, a water cooler with hot-tea/chocolate-ready hot water as well as refreshing filtered cold water. 
For your protection, there is an automatic motion detected hand sanitizer dispenser. 
There is also a humidifier to combat the dry mountain air. 
Inside the dresser, you will find a cabinet with a small supply of coffee, sugar, and artificial sweetener.  You should also find paper towels, plates, plastic ware, cups, and ceramic mugs. There are several grocery stores in town to meet your specific kitchen/beverage needs outside of what we have supplied here.

BATHROOM

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, you will find the bathroom located through the moon door at the top of the stairs. Once you enter the hallway, the bathroom is on the right-hand side. The room is outfitted with a space saving pocket door.  Halfway down the pocket door, on the inside, you will see a small pull handle.  You must press the top of the handle for the pull to pop out. You are also able to lock the door for your privacy. 
Inside the bathroom, you should find everything you could possibly need.  There are ample Egyptian Cotton bath sheets, hand towels and washcloths tucked neatly on the shelves near the window. 
Beneath these towels, we provide a space heater for your comfort on those cold days. If you leave the door (with the moon on it) open, the propane heater in the main space will heat the bathroom as well. The breaker will trip if you run the blow dryer and the space heater at the same time. You will need to unplug the heater to use the blow dryer. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN THE SPACE HEATER OFF WHEN NOT IN USE.
There are hooks in convenient spots on the walls for towels or your clothing. 
There is a sturdy grab bar next to the shower for your safety getting into or out of the shower.
Inside the mirrored cabinet you will find a blow dryer, hand mirror, extra toothbrushes, cotton swabs, cotton balls, and minor first aid items. 
We supply a comfortable, absorbent bath rug for your safety. 
Inside the shower, you will find a non-slip mat, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your convenience.  
There will be ample toilet paper for your stay. The toilet paper supplied is suited for our sensitive septic system. PLEASE ONLY USE THE SMALLEST AMOUNT NEEDED OF THE TOILET PAPER SUPPLIED. Please only human waste and the toilet paper supplied should go in the toilet. All other items, feminine products, diapers, wipes, Kleenex, etc. should go in the trash cans provided throughout the space.
We realize accidents happen. Behind the toilet, you will find a toilet brush should the need arise. You should also find cleaning supplies in the green baskets under the sink, as well as a broom, mop, and bucket, near the ironing board on the left-hand side of the closet just outside the bathroom. 
There is also a plunger behind the toilet. PLEASE MAKE US AWARE IF THERE IS NEED FOR A PLUNGER.
In the green baskets under the sink, there are cleaning supplies, disposable rags, and gloves for your use throughout your stay. While we appreciate the space being kept neat and tidy, we will thoroughly clean after your stay is concluded.  These supplies are simply for your use should you have a spill or accident that needs immediate attention. We sincerely appreciate your diligence during these inevitable times.

 

FURNITURE

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, you will find a comfortable Queen-sized bed surrounded by a log bed frame. The bed is tall, so feel free to use the frame as a step up. The bed rests upon a large cozy rug. On either side of the Queen bed are matching bedside tables with three small drawers and a cabinet for storage. Upon these tables are matching lamps, which you may adjust for the best lighting. This is a true log cabin.  The bump out surrounding the room houses the electricity for the space. It creates a shallow shelf, which you may use as another surface for your things. You should find ample outlets for your electronics throughout the space.
Please refrain from using the propane heat stove as a surface for any of your things.
You will find two luggage racks for your convenience. There is a small refrigerator with a small freezer. We provide a dresser with drawers for storage if you wish to unpack. In the dresser is also a cabinet to store dry goods. Upon the dresser you will find a coffee maker, microwave, and humidifier to make your stay more comfortable. You will find a water cooler with a hot water dispenser for tea and/or hot chocolate. Behind this is a shelf for extra surface space should you need it. There is a small wastepaper basket, and a flip-top lid trash can. There is a small cube table for use as another luggage rack, a coffee table, a footstool, or a child’s table. 
There is a quality Lazy Boy brand sofa with a Full-sized bed inside. The sofa is protected by a slipcover that is removed, sanitized, and Scotch Guarded between guests. If you require the use of the sofa as an extra bed, the slipcover will need to be removed to open the bed. We ask that you use the large clear plastic trash bags provided and kept in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom to place the slipcover and cushions into while storing them on the floor on the right-hand side of the closet across from the bathroom during your stay. If you choose to close the bed during the day and utilize the sofa, you will not be required to reapply the main slipcover over and over, but we will ask that you leave the cushions covered.  You will find a matching rug in front of the sofa and a bench, which can be used as extra seating, a coffee table, a footstool, or another surface for luggage or laptop.
At the top of the stairs, through the moon door, you will find shelving where extra pillows are kept and a rolling hamper for laundry.  The door behind the shelf will remain locked from both sides during your stay as it is an entry into our private home.
The table and chairs outside are lightweight aluminum. They may be enjoyed outside on days with nice weather, or easily brought inside for a comfortable space to have a meal, play a game, or use as a desk for work.
The chairs on the green space in front of the cabin may also be brought inside for extra seating or enjoyed outside.
We ask that you please use caution when transferring furniture into and out of the cabin. 
Only these pieces mentioned may be transferred into and out of the cabin.

BEDDING

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals, we supply ample pillows, sheets, comforters, and thermal blankets for the Queen-sized bed, and the Double bed inside the sofa, to suit your every need.  
THE PILLOWS WE SUPPLY ARE ADJUSTABLE! Simply remove the pillow from the pillowcase, unzip, and remove as many or as few of the pillows inside to achieve your exact comfort level. We would appreciate it if you would utilize one of the large clear trash bags supplied in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom to store the pillow inserts in the closet while not in use.
We realize accidents happen. Should you need to change the sheets and mattress protector, you will find extras hanging on the right side of the closet opposite the bathroom. Please make us aware, so we may remove the sheets and have them laundered immediately. If a blanket or comforter needs cleaning, we will remove them as well and have them returned in as timely a manner as possible.

 

SOFA

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite you will find a quality Lazy Boy hide-a-bed sofa with a full-sized mattress on the left upon entry.  The sofa is protected by a slipcover, which will need to be removed to access the bed inside. We would greatly appreciate if you would use one of the clear plastic trash bags supplied in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom to protect and store the slipcover and cushions during your stay. For a neat and tidy space, we recommend you place these items in the closet at the top of the stairs on the floor of the right-hand side.
The mattress is fully encased and protected by a water-resistant, cover. We will supply sheets, pillows, a thermal blanket, and a comforter for restful sleep during your stay.
We realize accidents happen. Should you need to change the sheets and mattress protector, you will find extras hanging on the right side of the closet opposite the bathroom. Please make us aware, so we may remove the sheets and have them laundered. If a blanket or comforter needs cleaning, we will remove them as well and have them returned in as timely a manner as possible.
There are extra pillows in the hallway at the top of the stairs. THE PILLOWS WE SUPPLY ARE ADJUSTABLE! Simply remove the pillow from the pillowcase, unzip, and remove as many or as few of the pillows inside to achieve your exact comfort level. We would appreciate it if you would utilize one of the large clear trash bags supplied in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom to store the pillow inserts in the closet while not in use.
If your stay only includes the use of the Queen-sized bed, and the sofa will remain closed, please keep the slipcover on the sofa for its protection. The slipcover has been Scotch Guarded and is water-resistant, but we realize accidents happen. Should there be a spill, please make us aware, so we may launder the slipcover and clean up any possible stains on the sofa itself before they have a chance to set in.  We have extra slipcovers, so we can immediately replace the one needing laundering. 
TO PROTECT THE FURNITURE FOR FUTURE GUESTS, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ALLOWING PETS ON ANY OF THE FURNITURE.

CHILDREN

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, FAMILIES ARE WELCOME! We love children and families. We understand that children can be noisy, messy, accident prone, and stubborn. With the Full-sized hide-a-bed sofa and a Queen-sized bed, only you can determine how comfortable your stay will be and how many will be comfortable during your stay. The cabin sleeps 4 adults comfortably.
When it comes to children, we realize accidents happen. In the green baskets under the sink, there are cleaning supplies, disposable rags, and gloves for your use throughout your stay. In the closet across from the bathroom, you will find a broom, mop, and bucket. While we appreciate the space being kept neat and tidy, we will thoroughly clean after your stay is concluded.  These supplies are simply for your use should you have a spill or accident that needs immediate attention. We sincerely appreciate your diligence during these inevitable times.
 

GUESTS

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, we understand that you may be here to visit friends or make new ones. Your guests are our guests; however, if your guests choose to stay, it is your responsibility to inform your guests of the rules before their stay.  You will be held responsible for the actions of your guests during your stay.

PETS - ONLY DOGS ARE ALLOWED

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals Sunrise Suite, WE LOVE PETS!  WE HAVE PETS! WE WELCOME PETS! However, all pet owners are different. 
That being said, we want to set the boundaries and standards by which you may be allowed to bring your pets. THIS PAGE WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED TO VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THESE RULES BEFORE YOU CAN BOOK YOUR STAY AT FLEW THE COOP VACATION RENTALS.
1.    We welcome dogs only. 
2.    PETS ARE TO BE CRATED IF LEFT UNSUPERVISED. From a shower to a quick trip to the store, your animal must be crated. THIS IS A MUST. We can provide a crate large enough to suit a Great Dane to a Pekinese to rent if you need one during your stay, or you may bring your own.
3.    We realize accidents happen. If you are supervising your pet, and they still have an accident, you will find in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom, there are cleaning supplies, disposable rags, and gloves for your use throughout your stay. While we appreciate the space being kept neat and tidy, we will thoroughly clean after your stay is concluded.  These supplies are simply for your use should you have a spill or accident that needs immediate attention. We sincerely appreciate your diligence during these inevitable times.
4.    Next to the cabin is the Flew the Coop Dog Park. The property has been sectioned off with fencing to provide a space purely for you to allow your pet off leash to play and potty. Please pick up after your pet and dispose of the debris in the containers provided. Please remain in the area provided. The other sections of the property are our private areas. Unless inside the cabin or within the dog park, your dog is to remain on leash while on our property. Please refrain from approaching our dogs, even if on leash. Inside the dog park is a smaller dog run that we call The Flew the Coop Dog Coop, with a doghouse for shelter. It is larger and more comfortable if you would rather crate your dog outside while you take a long hike or a drive to the top of Pikes Peak. While your pet can be left unsupervised in the Flew the Coop Dog Coop, they will need to be supervised while in the Flew the Coop Dog Park. We have an electric fence surrounding the fence line, which should be a deterrent for them to escape while under your supervision, but when dogs are out of their element, and their owners leave them alone, they will try anything to get back to you and could potentially escape the Dog Park. The Dog Coop’s barrier fence is 6’ tall, is buried into the ground and held up by wooden posts instead of T-posts as the Dog Park fence is. All these decisions will be made at your own risk. You know your dog best. Ultimately, if your dog escapes either enclosure while you are away, it is your responsibility. There will be no supervision by us for your pet.
5.    There is a weather station attached to the Flew the Coop Dog Coop. These instruments are very sensitive. Please leave this weather station alone.
6.    We realize, at home, your dog may sleep with you. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DOG TO SLEEP WITH YOU DURING YOUR STAY. Because you will be asleep, this will be one of those unsupervised times your dog will need to be crated. 
7.    We realize, at home, your dog may be allowed on the furniture. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DOG ON THE FURNITURE, even if they are small and held in your lap. You may sit on the floor and allow your dog in your lap, but not on any of the furniture. 
8.    We are a small boutique business. The additional time, energy, and cost it takes to clean up after or repair the damage pets may cause costs us when we miss an opportunity to book another guest. We want them to have the same wonderful experience we provided for you. It is for this reason that should we find any of these rules have been broken, you will lose your entire deposit.

TRASH

At Flew the Coop Vacation Rentals you will find trash cans throughout your space for easy disposal.  Should you need a new trash can liner, you will find them in the green baskets under the sink in the bathroom. Make us aware that you need it taken away and we will dispose of it in as timely a manner as possible. Please keep the trash inside the room as it will attract wild animals if left outside. 

 

CLEANING 

The mattresses are protected by waterproof fitted sheets beneath the bedding. The mattresses themselves are directly treated and sanitized after each guest’s departure for the prevention of pests and communicable disease. The pillows are removed, disassembled, washed in hot water, dried on high heat, and treated in the same way as the bedding for pests and disease.

Please make us aware, so we may remove the sheets and have them laundered. If a blanket or comforter needs cleaning, we will remove them as well and have them returned in as timely a manner as possible.
